Wow! Time is flying by! I loved watching the Winter Olympics. The pairs ice dancing had 3 dances to country songs this year!! The outfits were even very country. This is first time I recall seeing soo many pairs skate to country songs!! Rock on, y’all~
Emily Samuelson and Evan Bates’ American Folk dance routine was impressive as they skated to a song by the Dixie Chicks. “It was a bit strange hearing vocalized music in a skating event, much less the Olympics where it is highly traditional and conservative.” But, I liked it;)
Music by Johnny Cash and John Denver also made it to the Olympics on Sunday night (Feb. 21). The brother-and-sister duo of John and Sinead Kerr, who are from Scotland and represent Great Britain, danced to Johnny Cash’s version of “I’ve Been Everywhere.”
The French duo of Nathalie Pechalat and Fabian Bourzat skated to John Denver’s “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” in a version credited as being sung by Roy Rivers and Dolly Parton.
I enjoyed them all.
